(Mom/Dad)
In our hearts your memory lingers,
Sweetly tender, fond and true,
There is not a day, dear Mother (Father),
That we do not think of you.
V #38 (Baby)
You were a gift sent straight from Heaven.
Given to us from God above.
We didn't know how much you would teach us
About the meaning of true love...
For true love sometimes means letting go
Of someone precious and dear.
That is what we were forced to do...
Although we wanted to keep you here!!!
However, this is quite a selfish wish.
One we know we should ignore...
But, sweet (babies name), we truly do believe
That God must have needed you more...
Perhaps to be an Angel now,
Full of wisdom and love...
Watching over those of us who love you
From the shining stars above.
We miss you more than you can know.
You will never be replaced...
In our hearts and memories forever,
Will be your sweet and innocent sleeping face.
V # 56 (Mom/Dad)
He/She wasn't a hero known by the world
But a hero he/she was to his little girl/boy.
I knew his/her voice before I could speak
And loved it when he/she would sing me to sleep.
He/She taught us life's lessons of right from wrong
And instilled in us values that we might be strong.
And so through the years like a hero he/she stood
Working to give all that he/she could.
His/Her presence was important
and we loved to see him/her smile
For no one in the world could emulate his/her style.
And so dear Dad/Mom my best memory to recall
Is the gift of your presence
The greatest gift of all.
V # 58 (Brother)
There is always a face before me,
A voice I would love to hear,
A smile I will always remember,
Of a brother I loved so dear.
Deep in my heart lies a picture,
More precious than silver or gold,
It's a picture of my brother,
Whose memory will never grow old.
Dear Lord,
There's a wonderful mother
who's loved from the heart
for the smiles and the comfort she brings.
Who deserves all the joy
of a life that is filled
with the brightest and happiest things.
Who's always there
to give wisdom and guidance
and share with such warmth and affection~
So, please walk beside her
and bless her each day
with Your own special love and protection.

The Lord is my programmer,
I shall not crash.
He installed His software on the hard disk of my heart;
all of His commands are user-friendly.
His directory guides me to the right choices
for His names sake
Even though I scroll through the problems of life,
I will fear no bugs, for he is my backup.
His password protects me.
He prepares a menu before me in the presence of my enemies.
His help is only a keystroke away.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life,
and my file will be merged with His and saved forever.
WALK A LITTLE PLAINER, DADDY
WALK A LITTLE PLAINER, DADDY
SAID A LITTLE CHILD, SO FRAIL.
I'M FOLLOWING IN YOUR FOOTSTEPS,
AND DON'T WANT TO FAIL
SOMETIMES YOUR STEPS ARE VERY PLAIN
SOMETIMES HARD TO SEE.
SO WALK A LITTLE PLAINER, DADDY
FOR YOU ARE LEADING ME.
I KNOW THAT ONCE YOU WALKED
THIS WAY, MANY YEARS AGO,
AND WHAT YOU DID ALONG THE WAY
I'D REALLY LIKE TO KNOW.
FOR SOMETIMES I AM TEMPTED
AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO
SO WALK A LITTLE PLAINER, DADDY,
FOR I MUST FOLLOW YOU
SOMEDAY WHEN I 'VE GROWN UP
YOU ARE LIKE I WANT TO BE
THEN I WILL KNOW A LITTLE CHILD
WHO WILL WANT TO FOLLOW ME.
SO WALK A LITTLE PLAINER, DADDY
FOR WE ARE FOLLOW YOU
I got to the gate of heaven yesterday after we said goodbye.
I began to miss you terribly, because I heard you cry.
Suddenly there was an angel and she asked me to enter heaven's gate.
I asked her if I could stay outside for someone who'd be late.
I wouldn't make much noise you see,
I wouldn't bark or howl,
I'll only wait here patiently
and play with my tennis ball.
The angel said I could stay right here and wait for you to come
Because heaven just wouldn't be heaven if I went in alone.
So I'll wait here, You take your time, but keep me in your heart.
Because heaven just wouldn't be heaven without you to warm my heart.
Lend Me a Pup
I will lend to you for awhile,
a pup, God said,
For you to love him while he lives
and mourn for him when he's dead.
Maybe for twelve or fourteen years,
or maybe two or three
But will you, 'till I call him back,
take care of him for me.
He'll bring his charms to gladden you
and (should his stay be brief)
you'll always have his memories
as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught below
I want this pup to learn.
I've looked the whole world over
in search of teachers true
And from the folk that crowd's life's land
I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love
Nor think the labour vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take my Pup back again.
I fancied that I heard them say
"Dear Lord Thy Will be Done,"
For all the joys this Pup will bring,
the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness
we'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay
But should you call him back
much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
and try to understand.
If, by our love, we've managed,
your wishes to achieve
In memory of him we loved,
to help us while we grieve,
When our faithful bundle departs this world of strife,
We'll have yet another Pup and love him all his life.

A Nurse's Prayer
Give me strength and wisdom,
When others need my touch;
A soothing word to speak to them,
Their hearts yearn for so much.
Give me joy and laughter,
To lift a weary soul;
Pour in me compassion,
To make the broken whole.
Give me gentle, healing hands,
For those left in my care;
A blessing to those who need me,
This is a Nurse's prayer.
Allison Chambers Coxsey
Being a NURSE means......
You will never be bored.
You will always be frustrated.
You will be surrounded by challenges.
So much to do and so little time.
You will carry immense responsibility and very little authority.
You will step into people's lives and you will make a difference.
Some will bless you. Some will curse you.
You will see people at their worst-and at their best>
You will never cease to be amazed at people's capacity for love, courage, and endurance.
You will see life begin-and end.
You will experience resounding triumphs and devastating failures.
You will cry a lot. You will laugh a lot.
You will laugh a lot.
You will know what it is to be human and to be humane.
Melodie Chenevert, RN
Heaven's Door
If I should go before you,
If life on earth were through;
I'll stop just inside Heaven's door,
And there I'll wait for you.
You've but to look 'cross star filled skies,
Past the moon and then beyond;
To know my leaving could never break,
This heart's undying bond.
And if you should go before me,
If your journey on earth were through;
You know I will be close behind,
I'll never be far from you.
Across the span of time and space,
This love will reach this far;
For you'll always carry a bit of my heart,
No matter where you are.
We've no way of knowing who will remain,
Or who will go on before;
But if I should go first, you'll find love there,
I'll be waiting just inside Heaven's door.
"Reflections Of A Mother"
I gave you life,
but cannot live it for you.
I can give you directions,
but I cannot be there to lead you.
I can take you to church,
but I cannot make you believe.
I can teach you right from wrong,
but I cannot always decide for you.
I can buy you beautiful clothes,
but I cannot make you beautiful inside.
I can offer you advice,
but I cannot accept it for you.
I can give you love,
but I cannot force it upon you.
I can teach you to share,
but I cannot make you unselfish.
I can teach you respect,
but I cannot force you to show honor.
I can advise you about friends,
but cannot choose them for you.
I can advise you about sex,
but I cannot keep you pure.
I can tell you about alcohol & drugs,
but I can't say "No" for you.
I can tell you about lofty goals,
but I can't achieve them for you.
I can teach you about kindness,
but I can't force you to be gracious
I can pray for you,
but I cannot make you walk with God.
I can tell you how to live,
but I cannot give you eternal life.
I can love you with unconditional love all of
my life... and I will.
I'M FREE
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones
touch.
Perhaps my time seems all to brief;
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
My granny was so special to me,
She lived her life to the fullest,
And now she's been set free.
I know she's more happy now than ever before,
God called her home and opened the golden door.
She has no problems and no fears,
God took her up and wiped away all her tears.
I know she wants me to try my best in all I do,
I love you granny
and I'll keep doing my best in everything for you!

Take time to think.... it is the source of power.
Take time to play.... it is the secret of perpetual youth.
Take time to read.... it is the fountain of wisdom.
Take time to pray.... it is the greatest power on earth.
Take time to love and be loved.... it is a God-given privilege.
Take time to be friendly.... it is the road to happiness.
Take time to laugh.... it is the music of the soul.
Take time to give.... it is too short a day to be selfish.
Take time to work.... it is the price of success.
Take time to do charity.... it is the key to heaven.
What Makes A Dad
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it ... Dad

My Father
W hen I was: Four years old: My daddy can do anything.
W hen I was: Five years old: My daddy knows a whole lot.
W hen I was: Six years old: My dad is smarter than your dad.
W hen I was: Eight years old: My dad doesn't know exactly
everything.
W hen I was: 10 years old: In the olden days, when my dad grew
up, things were sure
different.
W hen I was: 12 years old: Oh, well, naturally, Dad doesn't know
anything about that. He
is too old to remember his childhood.
W hen I was: 14 years old: Don't pay any attention to my dad. He
is so old-fashioned.
W hen I was: 21 years old: Him? My Lord, he's hopelessly out of
date.
W hen I was: 25 years old: Dad knows about it, but then he
should, because he has been
around so long.
W hen I was: 30 years old: Maybe we should ask Dad what he
thinks. After all, he's had a
lot of experience.
W hen I was: 35 years old: I'm not doing a single thing until I talk
to Dad.
W hen I was: 40 years old: I wonder how Dad would have
handled it. He was so wise.
W hen I was: 50 years old: I'd give anything if Dad were here now
so I could talk this
over with him. Too bad I didn't appreciate how smart he was. I
could have
learned a lot from him.

MOTHER - THE BEAUTIFUL CREATURE
(Inspired by the one who gave me life and love)
********************************************
At the dawn of every life, at the birth of every child, there is
always
a joyous thought that brings memories of care, affection and
also pains
and anxiety, but all add up to a poem of Love.
Every human being carries with him or her the seal of this
Love and
remembers the maternal tenderness which is very hard to
remove from
the heart.
Over the years, even when our hair turns gray, there
remains the
distant memories and the strong desire to see once again
Her, who
carries the affectionate name of Mother. Her name is a
fountain
of peaceful thoughts, generosity, serenity and Love.
We always talk nice about our Mother and we always speak
highly of
her merits and good guidance and when She is gone, a veil
of sadness
surrounds our hearts.
There is a legend that says that since God could not be
physically
present amongst all His people at all times, he created
Mothers to
take His place. Looking at the smile on the face of a Mother
as she
looks at her baby explains it very clearly.
If we look at Nature we see so much beauty:
the People, the Mountains,
the Oceans, Rivers, Trees,
the Flowers, Stars and the Birds....
But the Sun doesn't shine on anyone
more beautiful than you, MOTHERS!
Thanks for filling this World with so much genuine love.
With sincere admiration, love and respect to all of you,
Mothers.
Alfred Grech
Why Mothers Cry ....
"Why are you crying?" he asked his mom.
"Because I'm a mother," she told him.
"I don't understand," he said.
His mom just hugged him and said, "You never will!"
Later the little boy asked his father why Mother
seemed to cry for no reason.
"All mothers cry for no reason," was all his dad could
say.
The little boy grew up and became a man, still
wondering why mothers cry. So he finally put in a call to God and
when God got on the phone the man said, "God, why do mothers
cry so easily."
God said, "You see son, when I made mothers
they had to be special. I made their shoulders strong enough to
carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give
comfort. I gave them an
inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection
that many times come from their children.
"I gave them a hardiness that allows them to keep
going when everyone else gives up, and to take care of their
families through sickness and fatigue without complaining.
"I gave them the sensitivity to love their children
under all circumstances, even when their child has hurt
them very badly.
This same sensitivity helps them to make a
child's boo-boo feel better and helps them share a teenager's
anxieties and fears.
"I gave them a tear to shed. It's theirs exclusively to
use whenever it's needed. It's their only weakness.
It's a tear for mankind."
Your hands once busy through the day,
You didn't have much time to play.
The little games I asked you too,
You never had much time to do.
You'd wash my clothes and sew and cook
And when I brought my picture book
And asked you share my fun,
You'd say: "A little later, Hun."
You tucked me in all safe at night,
Hear my prayers, turn out the light,
Then tiptoe softly to the door.
I wish you'd stayed a moment more.
For life is short, the years rush past.
A little child grows up so fast.
No longer are you at my side,
My precious secrets to confide.
The picture books are put away,
There are no longer games to play,
No goodnight kiss, no prayers to hear.
That all belongs to yesteryear.
Your hands once busy, now lie still.
The days are long and hard to fill
I wish we could go back and do
The little things I asked you to.
But that's OK, cause I love you still.
I always did and I always will.
There's a wonderful mother
who's loved from the heart
for the smiles and the comfort she brings.
Who deserves all the joy
of a life that is filled
with the brightest and happiest things.
Who's always there
to give wisdom and guidance
and share with such warmth and affection~
So, please walk beside her
and bless her each day
with Your own special love and protection.
"Don't Cry Daddy"
Don't cry for me Daddy
I am right here
Although you can't see me
I see your tears
I visit you often
I go to work with you each day
And when it's time to close your eyes
On your pillow is where I lay
I hold your hand and stroke your hair
And whisper in your ear
If your sad today Daddy
Remember I am here
God took me home
This we know is true
But you'll always be my Daddy
Even though I'm not with you
I am Daddy's little boy
We will never be apart
For every time you think of me
Please know I'm in your heart
"Heaven's Gift"
Each child a gift to heaven,
Their spirits on the earth
To watch and to protect us
As they received rebirth
Rainbows forged in heaven
While angels fill the skies
Gentle love and elegance
Each lacy wing now flies
Gathered on soft pillow
On billowy sweet cloud
The gift of love and beauty
With halos now endowed
Heaven's entrance filtered
With gentle baby wings
That light our way to heaven
With love they always bring
Jesus holds these children
Forever in His Hands
Gently He will let them go
His love across the land
Feel a breeze upon you
Floral scent so sweet
Angel sent from heaven
Love that's ours to keep.
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today for life on earth is past,
But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same day
There's no longing for the past.
But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Thought there were times you did some things,
You knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand
And share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.
If Roses Grow in Heaven
If roses grow in Heaven Lord
Please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my Mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it everyday,
But there is an ache within my heart
That will never go away.
In Our Hearts
(adapted by Jean Gifford)
We thought of you with love today.
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday.
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We remember how you look.
Now all we have is memories.
And your pictures in our book.
Your memory is out keepsake.
With which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart..
To the Child of My Heart
O precious, tiny sweet little one
You will always be to me
So perfect, pure and innocent
Just as you were meant to be.
We dreamed of you and of your life
And all that it would be
We waited and longed for you to
come and join our family.
We never had the chance to play.
To laugh, to rock, to wiggle
We long to hold you, touch you
And to listen to you giggle.
I'll always be your mother,
He'll always be your dad.
You will always be our child,
the child that we had.
But now you're gone . . .
but yet you're here.
You are our sorrow and our joy,
there's love in every tear.
Just know our love goes deep and strong.
We'll forget you never.
The child we had, but never had,
and yet will have forever.
Back Home
When the Lord has called for a lost child to
come home
an angel guides that child along a path
where light is shown.
Even though the journey may be frightful, the
child unsure,
With Love, Faith, and Trust in God the journey
can be endured.
At times it may be difficult; the child will need
to rest
and dream about the life he's lived - he's
done his very best.
He continues on his journey though the road
is rough and long
It's hard to go from day to day but the child is
very strong.
A feeling of joy fills his heart for he knows
he's almost there;
The child is near a peaceful home full of
never-ending care.
And though the journey was frightful, the path
a winding road,
the child knows he's no longer lost; he has
found his way back home.

"Sadly Hollow"
Prayer of the Makah Indians
Do not stand by my grave and weep.
I am not there...I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am a diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star shine at night
Do not stand by my grave and cry..
I am not there...I did not die.
"The Little Ones"
Why God takes the little ones
I swear I'll never know
You had so much life to live
It just wasn't time to go.
For comfort, now, I think of you
With tiny little wings
Up above, in a beautiful place,
listening to angels sing.
You'll never know the pain I feel
The hurt you left behind.
Oh, what I wouldn't give to hold you one more
time.
I carried you in my womb,
Then I carried you in my arms
And now, until it no longer beats
I'll carry you in my heart

"I'll Be There"
Daddy please don't look so sad,
Momma please don't cry,
Cause I am in the arms of Jesus and
He sings me lullabies.
Please try not to question God,
Don't think He is unkind.
Don't think He sent me to you,
And then He changed His mind.
You see, I am a Special Child,
And I am needed up above,
I'm the special gift you gave Him,
The product of your love.
I'll always be there with you,
And watch the sky at night
Find the brightest star that's gleaming,
That's my halo's brilliant light
You'll see me in the morning frost,
That mists your windowpane.
That's me, in the summer showers,
I'll be dancing in the rain.
When you feel a gentle breeze,
From a gentle wind that blows,
That's me, I'll be there,
Planting a kiss on your nose.
When you see a child playing,
And your heart feels a little tug,
That's me, I'll be there,
giving your heart a hug.
So, daddy, please don't look so sad,
Mommy don't you cry.
I'm in the arms of Jesus,
and He sings me lullabies.
